Counsellor Qualifications
Our counsellors represent a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who have a master's degree or doctorate in the fields of psychology, clinical social work or educational psychology. Many of our counsellors are also certified in the area of addictions assessment and counselling, as well as other areas of specialty such as Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), assertiveness training, bereavement issues, anger management, stress and physical/emotional abuse. Shepell.fgi counsellors have excellent problem-solving, communication and assessment skills, and always have your best interest at heart.

Confidential and Immediate
Confidentiality and accessibility form the foundation of your Shepell.fgi EAP. Reaching out for help often comes after weeks or months of anxiety and fear - so we help right from the very first call. From our 24/7 counselling services to our centralized online appointment scheduling to our trio of counselling venues, we've laid down a direct pathway to immediate help. Your state of well-being is important to us, so it's important to be there when you need us. And we are.

Referrals
Under special circumstances or when the situation requires long-term counselling, our counsellors will make a referral to community resources, working together with you to ensure your understanding and acceptance of the referral. They identify a resource, taking into consideration your needs, your organization's benefit plan, provincial health plans and, if these are not applicable, your capacity to pay for such services. To facilitate these referral requirements, we maintain an extensive register of community resources that have been pre-screened and approved for suitability. Even if you have been referred to a community-based resource, we'll support you every step of the way.

To access these services, please call OLAP directly.
