| THE ONTARIO LAWYERS’ ASSISTANCE PROGRAM Who Will Be There for Me? Robert is a gay alcoholic lawyer. He has had peer support from an OLAP volunteer for about 7 months and feels that he is finally sober. He wants to keep his sobriety. Family issues have arisen suddenly and Robert must move back to Vancouver to help his very ill father with his business. But, who will be there for him when he gets to Vancouver? He originally moved to Toronto to get away from his drinking friends. He is scared. OLAP called the British Columbia Lawyers’ Assistance Program to make Robert’s transition easier. A contact person has already agreed to meet Robert the day after he gets back to take him to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. The contact person is also gay so he understands Robert’s challenges.
