What else can go wrong?
John was having a demanding time. He was in the middle of a long, difficult trial made even tougher by opposing counsel making accusations daily, both in and outside the courtroom, about his conduct, failed undertakings and his competence. John dealt with them as courteously as he could, but the personal and professional abuse was hurting his integrity and confidence.
His office was in a shambles from being away all day. This meant late nights, weekend work and returning calls at all hours of the day and night when he could snatch a bit of time. Clients wanted him NOW. He was not eating much or sleeping well and had mysterious chest pains. His family missed him. While sympathetic, they seemed to him to be a part of his problems. His anxiety and stress level increasing, he wondered how much more he could possibly handle. What else could go wrong?
