What Kinds of Problems Can You Call OLAP For?

Many lawyers consider OLAP a program to help lawyers deal with alcohol issues only. Not so! OLAP is what is called a broad-brush program which deals with all issues of impairment or distress. These include, but are not limited to:

• alcohol, drug and substance misuse, abuse and addiction. These include, alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, heroin, club drugs such as Ecstasy;
• process or behavioral-related problems or addictions such as gambling, eating, internet, sex and relationship issues and workaholism;
• stress and burnout issues such as the inability to function in the practice of law because of feeling so tired and worn out that you just cannot get anything done and the work seems to be piling up with no end in sight;
• mental wellness issues such as depression, bi-polar disorder (manic-depression with extreme high-low mood swings) and suicidal thoughts.

Add to this mix of potential career-affecting issues, other factors such as family problems, grief over losses of significant people or things in your life, concern for aging parents or children, equity and diversity issues, trying to stop smoking, financial pressures, concerns about competence, insurance claims, client complaints, etc. The list of things can go on and on.
